Lie down, or Sit with your back straight

Turn off all distractions – the TV, radio, phone

Light a candle

Play some soft music if you want to, although I prefer silence

Feel your feet and body connected and rooted to the earth

Ask for a ring of protection around you – golden light, or a blue cloak

Become aware of your body and allow your chakras to gently open

Listen and turn attention to your breathing, until all you are focussing on is
breathing in and breathing out – feeling your chest rise and fall

Your attention will wonder but it doesn’t matter just bring attention back to
the breath, and let the stillness and peace envelop you
